My Favorite Gift I Have Given

My favorite gift I’ve given was a coffe mug to my sister. This may not sound like a great gift- I mean it IS just a coffe mug.  What is so great about this is that my sister collects coffe mugs and enjoys buying them.  She also recently got accepted to UNCG.  The coffe mug I got her says ”UNCG GIRL” on it and she thinks its is a “cute mug”.  This is my favorite gift I have given because even though it is two weeks after she got it she is still thanking me for getting her something she can use almost every morning.  Everytime I get thanked for giving it to her I know she means it, which makes me feel good.

Athletic Scholarships

I am flattered that colleges have offered me scholarships while I’m in the seventh grade.  I have decided to not commit to any of the schools because I don’t know what I want to study in school.  My older sisters go to different colleges because they have different career interests.  I’m not sure what my career interest is so how can I choose the right school?  Right now I am 5’1″ tall and weigh 95 pounds.  The men are tall on my dad’s side and short on my mom’s side so I don’t really know what height I will become.  This might affect how the coach would see me as a player.  When I get closer to college age, I will have a better idea of my physical size.  It would be upsetting to me if the coach promised me a full scholarship and backed out because of my height.  I agree with Coach K that I should focus on my life now and stay in the moment.  I think I should start thinking about my college life when I get closer to that age.  I also don’t like the idea of verbally committing because I would feel uncomfortable backing out if a better opportunity presented itself.  These are all the reasons that led me to decline these offers.

Advertising

I think advertising companies waste money and resources that could be used for better quality products.  If they would just spend it on making the product last then more people would buy it if they know it won’t break.  Also, they shouldn’t be sending out product magazines because it is such a waste of paper.  Most people throw it directly in the trash without opening it.  This wastes trees and fills up our landfills.  I also think advertising companies make little kids cry when they can’t get the toys that are advertised.  They should not be targeting children because many parents can’t afford it and their money should go to better use.
